About

This website is a place to document my travels during my semester abroad. European Art Classroom is an off campus program based around art and art history throughout Europe. Living and creating art in the same locations of many the greatest artists in history is liberating and gives us the time needed to persue personal art pieces.

Bio

I am a 17 year old high school student at Proctor Academy persuing art as a form of expression. I have participated in art classes at Proctor all four years and have always had a deep interest in art from a young age. Living in Europe for two months will expand my knowledge of art history and different techniques. I enjoy having the time to spend painting and drawing before I return to America when time to create art is limited.

Artist Statement

Art is an escape during the day, whether its doodling in class, dancing, painting on canvas, carving or creating, I am constantly using my mind, hands, and body to create art. For me, I can see art in anything. Pieces of art can come in many different shapes and sizes. My art is inspired from the world around me. My creations are reflections of shapes, textures, and colors that can be seen in the natural beauty of the original model. My purpose is to use values and different pencil marks or brush strokes to create a variety of textures. I enjoy using a those textures to show that the world is not one big brush stroke. The world, instead, is made from intricate emotions, memories, movements, shapes, colors, sounds, feelings, and details that I try to embrace and portray through what I call art.
